who are you guys?

is to build support for our music program while also educating students and parents about the opportunity gap. We hope that our campaign encourages other schools to make their own keylessons so we close this gap for students one step at a time.

Increased IQ, the brain works harder, spatial-temporal skills, improved test scores, and being musical!

An opportunity gap has emerged making an upward climb much tougher in the 21st century, compared with the mid 20th century. The American dream is in crisis. the United States is losing its status as a land of opportunity for all.
what exactly do you do?

Any child that has musical potential deserves the opportunity to future this talent to its extent. Many children lack the chance to receive music lessons due to financial need. KeyLessons reaches out to low income families by linking these students with hebron high school musicians that are willing to give their time to provide free lessons to the future of our program and beyond.

Hebron band isn't your typical high school band. This band consist of highly intellectual students in the top of their class with multiple academic and musical accomplishments.

If we can do it, you can do it. We will provide all our tips and tricks to your child and make them as successful as our program. Coming by our band hall once a week for a 30 minute lesson with one of our student leaders will lead your child towards tremendous accomplishments.

I am the Founder of KeyLessons campaign, a former trumpet player of the hebron band and I am also actively involved in the Hebron band student leadership team. It's insane to think about the amount of students that are in need of financial help for something like a 30 minute private lesson. Now days it has become harder and harder to reach the American dream for young individuals due to things that they cannot control in the beginning of their journey. Money restricts students from showing their greatest potential musically and academically so I've decided that that will come to an end in the hebron band and hopefully more schools as this message is brought out. Private lessons help your child achieve the greatest amount of success out of the least amount of time. It provides a sense of identity and it is a time where your child is the main focus to work together to improve their own skills and build confidence. The last thing I want to see is one sixth grade trumpet player quit band because he or she couldn't pay for a private lesson every week. It breaks my heart to see so much potential go to waste. Studies have shown that students who are in music, academically excel (scroll uup to learn more) and no child should be left behind. I've been in band for 6 years and it helped me gain leadership skills, confidence, discipline and it helped me gain family. It's an experience your child cannot miss and if money is in your way sign up or a lesson now.

I started KeyLessons when I was in seventh grade and I'm beyond grateful to be taught free by high school students who inspire me. Within the 30 minutes of my private lesson I improve so much as an individual. These high school students are so well educated in music, I can't even tell that they're high school students. I'm really enjoying this opportunity and you can too! I hope keylessons becomes a wide spread thing so more students have equal opportunity at their schools.

about my sources:
NPR and PBS has a history of doing in-depth reporting and covering important stories that aren’t always covered elsewhere. They also relentlessly fact-check, and if they do get something wrong, they issue a correction promptly. Over all, I have found them to be very reliable. NPR and PBS are as far as the U.S. is concerned are finest journalistic institutions for pure news. They report the news in as factual a basis as possible.
while Music for All is one of the largest and most influential national music education organizations in support of active music making. Music for All is unique in that it combines programming at a national level with arts education advocacy.
